CIFTIS – China International Fair for Trade in ServicesProfile
The China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) was approved in 2012 by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to enhance China’s international competitiveness in the services sector and to fully leverage the role of services and service trade in accelerating the transformation of the economic development model. In 2019, it was renamed the China International Fair for Trade in Services. As China’s economy has entered a new era, the Beijing Fair for Trade in Services has also embarked on a new phase of quality improvement and upgrading. In 2020, the fair’s abbreviated name was changed from “Beijing Fair” to “CIFTIS.”
It has become an important platform for disseminating ideas, connecting supply and demand, sharing business opportunities, and promoting development in the global services trade sector. It is the largest comprehensive exhibition in the field of global services trade and the leading exhibition in China’s services trade industry, alongside the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) and the China International Import Expo (CIIE), forming China’s three major exhibition platforms for opening up to the world.
The China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS)is a national-level, international, and comprehensive exhibition co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality. In line with the rapid growth trend of global services trade, it has emerged as a key event for sharing ideas, bridging supply and demand, fostering business collaboration, and advancing development in the international services trade arena.
The China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS)leads the way in open innovation and promotes mutual benefit and shared prosperity. Aiming to become “the world’s most influential first-class international exhibition for services trade,” CIFTIS provides a new platform for governments, international organizations, and global services‑trade enterprises and institutions to showcase, exchange, negotiate, and collaborate; builds new bridges for exhibitors and buyers worldwide to share opportunities and drive development; and creates fresh channels for prominent figures from government, business, academia, and research to discuss pressing issues in services trade, explore sustainable development, and pursue win-win cooperation.
The Chinese government, together with countries, international organizations, and institutions around the world, is committed to making CIFTIS a barometer and vane for the development of global services trade, a new vehicle for boosting international trade and world economic growth, and a positive force for fostering the prosperity and advancement of global services trade.

Exhibition Review
The China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) 2025 was successfully held from September 2 to 6 at the National Convention Center and the Shougang Park in Beijing. Co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, the fair was themed “Global Services, Shared Prosperity” and is the most important annual comprehensive exhibition in the global trade-in-services sector. The event adopted a “one fair, two venues” format, with activities taking place simultaneously at the National Convention Center and the Shougang Park.
With an exhibition area of 150,000 square meters, the fair brought together over 2,400 enterprises participating on-site, including more than 500 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry-leading enterprises. International organizations and institutions, foreign embassies and consulates accredited in China, business associations, and enterprises from over 80 countries and regions worldwide took part in the exhibition and related events. Over the five-day period, the fair welcomed more than 100,000 professional visitors from over 100 countries and regions globally. France served as the Guest of Honor, while the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and other nations organized large-scale pavilions to showcase their offerings.
The Digital Services and Technology Pavilion emerged as the highlight of this year’s event. Alibaba demonstrated applications of its Qwen large language model in service‑trade scenarios, such as intelligent customer service, cross‑border e‑commerce translation, and smart marketing. Tencent showcased its HunYuan large model and enterprise‑grade AI solutions, while Baidu presented Wenxin Yiyan’s applications across finance, healthcare, education, and other sectors. Huawei exhibited its Pangu large model and Ascend AI computing infrastructure, and unveiled its Yanxi industrial large model along with intelligent supply-chain solutions. Several technology firms noted that generative AI is reshaping service‑trade delivery models and user experiences, with AI‑plus services emerging as a new growth driver in digital trade.
The Financial Services Pavilion also drew significant attention. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China displayed use cases for digital RMB and cross‑border payment solutions, while Bank of China highlighted its cross‑border financial services and green‑finance products. China Life Insurance introduced innovative pension and health insurance offerings, and Ping An showcased its integrated financial and healthcare ecosystem. Foreign financial institutions—including JPMorgan Chase, HSBC, and Standard Chartered—also presented their latest products. Representatives from participating financial institutions emphasized that China’s continued opening-up of its financial sector has fueled robust demand for cross‑border financial services.
The Culture and Tourism Services Pavilion garnered considerable interest. As the Guest of Honor, France organized a delegation of over 30 French cultural‑tourism enterprises, showcasing France’s tourism resources, cultural heritage, and creative products. The UK delegation featured its creative industries and educational services, while Japan focused on anime, gaming, and tourism offerings. China Tourism Group presented innovative “Tourism + Wellness” and “Tourism + Education” concepts, and Ctrip highlighted its global travel‑service platform and the recovery of inbound and outbound tourism.
The Annual Thematic Pavilion centered on “Dual Carbon Goals” and Green Services. State Grid Corporation of China unveiled its green energy services and carbon‑asset management platform, while Sinopec showcased hydrogen‑related services and integrated energy solutions. The Beijing Green Exchange presented its carbon‑emissions trading platform and green‑finance services. Many exhibiting companies underscored that green and low‑carbon practices have become key priorities in service trade, with rapidly growing demand for professional services such as carbon accounting, carbon trading, and green certification.
The Global Services Trade Summit brought together leading global expertise. The summit featured speeches by Chinese national leaders, a former French prime minister, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, the Secretary-General of UNCTAD, and the Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, among other distinguished guests. Discussions delved into topics such as “Service Trade and Global Economic Recovery,” “Rules and Standards for Digital Trade,” and “Green Services and Sustainable Development.” Participants agreed that service trade remains a vital engine for global economic growth, with digital trade and green services poised to shape future development trajectories.
A Wealth of Outcomes from Announcements and Signing Ceremonies. During the fair, more than 300 announcements and signing ceremonies were held, resulting in the release of over 200 authoritative reports, indices, white papers, and other outcomes. According to preliminary statistics, the event facilitated over 1,000 cooperation intentions and agreements, totaling more than RMB 200 billion. Among these, digital services and financial services accounted for the largest share of contracted value.
As the digital economy continues to flourish and global service trade remains open, the service‑trade sector is accelerating its transformation toward digitalization, greening, and high‑end sophistication. As the most influential national-level exhibition in the global service‑trade arena, CIFTIS has become a strategic platform for enterprises to showcase capabilities, connect with clients, gain insights into market trends, and expand into international markets.
