ITMA ASIA, the China International Textile Machinery ExhibitionProfile
The China Shanghai International Textile Machinery Exhibition (ITMA ASIA+CITME) is a joint venture between the “China International Textile Machinery Exhibition” and “ITMA ASIA.” It represents a collaborative effort by leading textile machinery industry associations from China, European countries, Japan, and other regions worldwide, undertaken to safeguard the interests of global textile machinery manufacturers and textile industry clients and to elevate the quality of textile machinery exhibitions.
The China National Textile Machinery Association, the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers and its member national associations, as well as the American Society of Textile Engineers, the Japan Textile Machinery Association, the Korea Textile Machinery Association, the Taiwan Machine Industry Association, and other major textile machinery associations around the globe, have all solemnly declared that “the China Shanghai Textile Machinery Exhibition (ITMA ASIA+CITME)” is the only exhibition within China that they wholeheartedly support.
This edition of the Shanghai Textile Machinery Exhibition welcomed 100,000 professional visitors from 105 countries and regions worldwide, marking record highs in both attendance numbers and visitor quality. Domestic visitors came from 31 provinces and municipalities, with notable increases exceeding 50% observed in Guangdong, Fujian, Xinjiang, Shanxi, Sichuan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Hunan, Hebei, Anhui, and other areas. Overseas visitors represented 104 countries and regions, accounting for more than 13% of the total attendance. India ranked first among overseas source markets, while significant growth was seen in professional attendees from Iran, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Turkey; notably, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Thailand participated for the first time as organized delegations.
At this year’s exhibition, both the technological front and market demand exhibited hallmarks of “high speed, intelligence, and sustainability.” Knitting machinery underwent accelerated iterations, achieving continuous improvements in efficiency, productivity, and smart automation—particularly in computerized flat knitting machines, where full‑pattern knitting technology has become mainstream. Circular knitting machines and warp knitting machines leveraged digital and intelligent technologies to enhance performance, expand application scope, and boost competitiveness. Weaving and preparatory machinery likewise adapted to evolving customer needs for high speed, energy efficiency, and flexible production of small batches and diverse product lines, with water‑jet looms, rapier looms, and shedding mechanisms demonstrating marked progress in stable high-speed operation, energy conservation, enhanced quality, and agile responsiveness.
The China Shanghai International Textile Machinery Exhibition (ITMA ASIA+CITME) continues to uphold its commitment to providing premium services to global textile machinery manufacturers and the broader textile industry, forging strategic partnerships to create a platform for mutual exchange and collective advancement among textile machinery enterprises and industry professionals worldwide.
