The Exhibition Value of Design Shenzhen
- Design Shenzhen is Asia’s premier event for consumer technology and interior design, organized by Clarion Events. Leveraging Shenzhen’s rich heritage as a UNESCO City of Design and the technological strengths of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, it has become a central platform for connecting global design resources, showcasing cutting-edge innovations, and fostering the deep integration of technology and design. With “Integration of Design and Technology” as its core theme, the exhibition is held annually at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center (Futian), striving to create a world-class stage in the Greater Bay Area that unites the design industry and shapes future lifestyles.
- The core value of participation lies in its comprehensive, end-to-end industry coverage and its strategic advantage in connecting with the Greater Bay Area market. The show brings together nearly 200 consumer technology and design brands from over 30 countries and regions, spanning smart home solutions, luxury interior design, innovative materials, commercial space solutions, consumer electronics, 3D printing, sustainable materials, and more. Its professional audience includes architects, interior designers, real estate developers, distributors, agents, buyers, and industry media, providing exhibitors with a strategic gateway to engage directly with key purchasing decision-makers in the Greater Bay Area.
- The exhibition establishes an international platform for linking global design resources, attracting leading brands and pioneering innovators. International and local brands such as Nothing, ASUS, Poltrona Frau, VIPP, MATSU, German brand Dauphin, Xiwu Custom, UMX, and ELLOMETA have participated year after year. With a clear three‑section layout—Consumer Technology Pavilion, Luxury Interior Design Pavilion, and Commercial Design Pavilion—the event systematically showcases the full industrial ecosystem, from smart hardware to living spaces, and from material R&D to brand incubation.
- Keeping pace with three major industry trends—AI empowerment, healthy living environments, and sustainable design—the exhibition builds a high‑level hub for deep collaboration among industry, academia, research, and application. Concurrent with the exhibition, two flagship forums—the Global Luxury Home Design Conference and the Technology Innovation Conference—bring together over a hundred industry leaders, including CCD founder Zheng Zhong, SCDA founder Zeng Shiqian, NewDealDesign founder Gadi Amit, and TCL Design Innovation Center General Manager Li Xuanhong, to engage in in-depth discussions on topics such as new‑luxury Chinese living spaces, AI‑driven design, and human‑centered digital design. Six specially curated highlights further enrich the experience: E‑Space offers an immersive exploration of future esports lifestyles; WellForm presents a health‑focused luxury home showcase designed by Tang Zhonghan, integrating WELL International Health Standards; Re:Materialize highlights the trend of material‑centric design; Manufacturing Editor focuses on modular innovation within China’s manufacturing sector; GOOD DESIGN SELECT features Japan’s G‑Mark “Top 100” award‑winning works; and WELLCONNECT creates a platform for exchanging ideas on healthy living.
- For Chinese enterprises, this exhibition serves as a strategic gateway to expand into the Greater Bay Area market, connect with international resources, and demonstrate their innovative capabilities. As a “City of Design,” Shenzhen continues to strengthen its innovation capacity and industry influence. Through the “Shenzhen Urban Design Guide,” the exhibition systematically profiles more than 100 urban aesthetic spaces, offering fresh perspectives on Shenzhen’s lifestyle and aesthetics. Exhibitors can leverage this platform to access core procurement networks in the Greater Bay Area and seize early opportunities in the intelligent, green, and integrated transformation of the design industry.

Exhibition Review
From September 18 to 21, 2025, the third edition of “Design Shenzhen” was successfully held at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center (Futian). Hosted by Clarion Events, this year’s show introduced a completely revamped layout, featuring three core segments—Consumer Technology, Luxury Home Design, and Commercial Design—drawing nearly 200 brands and design firms from over 20 countries and regions worldwide. Close to 200 design pioneers shared cutting-edge case studies on-site, while the event attracted more than 36,000 visitors, setting a new record.
In terms of scale, the exhibition spanned multiple halls within the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, bringing together renowned domestic and international brands such as Audi, Nothing, ASUS, Poltrona Frau, VIPP, MATSU, German brand Dauphin, Xiwu Custom, UMX, and many others. The first day witnessed a steady stream of visitors, with attendance remaining robust throughout the four-day run, underscoring the vibrant dynamism of the Greater Bay Area’s design market.
This year’s event boasted an array of highlights, with its three main sections and six specially curated programs serving as the centerpiece of the show. The Consumer Technology segment showcased cutting-edge products including smart wearables, 3D printing, and mixed-reality technologies; the Luxury Home Design section featured premium residential designs from international names like Poltrona Frau and VIPP, alongside domestic brands such as Xiwu Custom and UMX; meanwhile, the Commercial Design section presented innovative solutions from Hong Kong’s Industrial Designers Association ReMIX, MATSU office furniture, FULI+ automotive blankets, and other notable offerings. The six special programs each brought unique appeal: E-Space, an esports-themed installation designed by Asizhi, drew inspiration from an “interstellar immigration landing base,” uniting nearly 30 tech‑esports brands—including ROG, Hexcal, Nanoleaf, and Steelcase—to create an immersive esports lifestyle experience. WellForm, conceived by acclaimed Asian spatial designer Tang Zhonghan, embraced the concept of a “breathable living system,” integrating brands like Yongnuo JUNG, TOYOSAN, Nobilia, and BERTAZZONI to present a model for healthy luxury living spaces, which later materialized as Star River’s Third Space. Re:Materialize, initiated by Rong Design Library, explored two major themes—high‑value residential and consumer technology—bringing together Matrix Research Institute, Dongpeng Tiles, Covestro, Musashi Coatings, and other leading brands to champion the principle of “design‑first materials.” madedit, centered on the philosophy of “editableism,” highlighted modular innovation in Chinese manufacturing, while GOOD DESIGN SELECT showcased Japan’s G‑Mark “Top 100” award‑winning works, including pieces by the Nothing team. WELLCONNECT, co‑created with UK‑based DavidHugh, transformed public spaces into “breathing houses,” offering health‑focused therapeutic experiences.
Complementary events added further richness, establishing a high‑end platform for industry exchange and intellectual dialogue. During the exhibition, two flagship forums were held: the Global Luxury Home Design Conference and the Innovation in Technology Conference. The Global Luxury Home Design Conference, in partnership with CCD Zhengzhong Design, adopted the theme “The New Luxury,” with keynote speakers including CCD founder Zheng Zhong, SCDA founder Zeng Shiqian, Tang Zhonghan, Zhang Fuli, Xie Hui, and others, who shared forward‑looking insights into the emerging landscape of luxury living in China. The Innovation in Technology Conference, themed “Human‑Centric Digital Design,” brought together Gadi Amit, founder of NewDealDesign; Li Xuanhong, General Manager of TCL’s Design Innovation Center; Wei Min, founder of Jiajian Geometry; Huang Shengjie, ASUS’s Design Director; and Li Nan, founder of NuMiao Technology, among others, to engage in in‑depth discussions on AI‑driven design, intelligent mobility, and digital lifestyles. In addition, the exhibition unveiled the “Urban Design Guide: Shenzhen,” systematically cataloging more than 100 offline spaces distinguished by their strong design consciousness and aesthetic expression, providing a sourcebook of inspiration for Shenzhen’s evolving aesthetic lifestyle.
The professional audience was exceptionally strong, with buyers of high caliber. The event attracted architects, interior designers, real estate developers, distributors, agents, buyers, and media representatives from across China. Exhibiting companies widely reported that the quality of the professional attendees was outstanding, with clear purchasing objectives, resulting in highly effective business matchmaking on site. As the exclusive title sponsor, Audi commissioned Dayang Dashu Studio to create an immersive interactive exhibit titled “A Realm of Dwelling,” drawing inspiration from the interior of the Audi A5L to highlight the profound connection between automotive design and the aesthetics of everyday life.
