The Exhibition Value of the Shenzhen Home Textiles and Soft Furnishings Show

  • The Shenzhen International Home Textiles, Fabric & Home Decor Exhibition (HOMETEX) is Asia’s largest and most influential flagship event in the home soft furnishings sector. Since its inception in 1997, it has been successfully held for dozens of editions and is widely recognized by the industry as a leading indicator of trends in China’s home soft furnishings market and a central hub of the global home textiles value chain. Over nearly three decades, the exhibition has grown from an initial scale of fewer than 50 exhibitors occupying 400 square meters to a major industry gathering spanning more than 100,000 square meters, bringing together nearly 1,000 global brands and attracting over 100,000 professional buyers. The Spring 2026 edition coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Guangdong Home Textiles and Home Furnishings Industry Association, under the theme “Thirty Years of Refinement, Ushering in the Future of Home,” marking a new stage of development.
  • The core value of exhibiting lies in its platform‑wide coverage of the entire industry chain and its robust channel advantages for precisely connecting with global buyers. The Spring 2026 show will feature an exhibition area of 100,000 square meters, organized into eight thematic pavilions, bringing together nearly 1,000 high‑quality enterprises across the full supply chain. Exhibits span all categories—home textiles and fabrics, smart shading solutions, wall décor, custom furniture, smart home technologies, and decorative accessories—fully showcasing innovative achievements within the broader home soft furnishings ecosystem. Concurrently, the event will host Home China (Shenzhen) Creative Design Week, presenting more than 40 high‑profile industry events and drawing over 200 global design luminaries and industry leaders, including former chief designers of Tom Ford, WGSN trend experts, and consultants from the Danish textile giant Kvadrat. During the exhibition, targeted invitations will be extended to 1,506 overseas professional buyers from five continents, covering regions such as Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Russia, Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, as well as the Americas, Africa, and Oceania. Delegations from Kazakhstan and Vietnam, along with a special visit from the Malaysian Designers Association, underscore the exhibition’s unprecedented level of international participation.
  • The exhibition aligns with three major industry trends—“comprehensive soft furnishing solutions, intelligent integration, and global expansion”—and establishes a cutting‑edge technological platform fostering deep collaboration among industry, academia, research, and end‑users. For the 2026 edition, the exhibition proudly announces that its highly anticipated Autumn Show, absent for two years, will return from August 7 to 9, centered on the strategic vision of “comprehensive soft furnishing solutions.” Seven innovative initiatives and four key value commitments will be unveiled, fundamentally breaking away from the conventional model of merely replicating the Spring Show and driving companies toward transformation—from product suppliers to lifestyle service providers. The exhibition introduces a groundbreaking “Business Matching Zone” and three category‑specific procurement fairs, leveraging big data to enable precise pre‑event matching between exhibitors and buyers, offering personalized one‑on‑one negotiation services. In partnership with WGSN, it launches the immersive “Convergence of All Trends” laboratory, translating annual color, fabric, and spatial trends into tangible, experiential scenarios. The “2026 Soft Furnishings AI Conference” will focus on the convergence of artificial intelligence and the home industry, exploring new pathways for digital and intelligent transformation, while the “Wonderful Market” creative bazaar and outdoor courtyard living showcase spaces bridge the gap between design innovation and consumer experience, opening up fresh avenues for home‑related consumption.
  • In line with the industry strategy of “grouping together to go global,” the exhibition paves the way for a new phase of worldwide expansion. At the opening ceremony, the “Pan‑Home Industry Globalization Collaborative Ecosystem” was officially launched. The association joined forces with Informa Markets, the China Private Economy International Cooperation Chamber of Commerce, the North Rhine‑Westphalia State Office for International Business, the Kazakhstan Textile Business Association, and more than ten other domestic and international organizations to jointly establish a systematic overseas support framework, guiding enterprises from individual “going out” efforts toward coordinated, collaborative global expansion. As the ecosystem’s first pilot project, the 2026 Vietnam Home Textiles and Home Furnishings Exhibition is scheduled for November in Ho Chi Minh City, marking a pivotal step in Guangdong’s strategic deployment into emerging overseas markets. Starting in 2026, the exhibition will formally initiate an overseas exhibition program, empowering Chinese companies to engage more proactively with global markets.
  • For Chinese enterprises, this exhibition serves as a strategic gateway to expand into global markets, connect with international resources, and showcase their innovative capabilities. From its humble beginnings in 1996 with fewer than 50 exhibitors, the show has evolved into today’s premier national event, gathering nearly 1,000 global brands and attracting over 100,000 professional buyers. Over the four‑day duration, the exhibition welcomed 98,279 professional visitors, with attendance on the third day increasing by 31% year over year—data that not only defies economic cycles but also demonstrates the industry’s remarkable resilience. Exhibiting companies can leverage this platform to access global procurement networks and seize early opportunities in the comprehensive, intelligent, and globally oriented transformation of the home soft furnishings sector.

Exhibition Review

The Shenzhen International Home Textiles, Fabric & Home Décor Exhibition 2026 (Spring) was successfully held from March 7 to 10, 2026, at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. This edition of the exhibition was themed “Integrating All Possibilities,” co-organized by the Guangdong Home Textiles & Home Furnishings Industry Association, the Home Textiles & Home Furnishings Branch of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce’s Textile and Apparel Chamber of Commerce, and Shenzhen Bo’ao Exhibition Co., Ltd. Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the Guangdong Home Textiles & Home Furnishings Industry Association, it marked a significant milestone for the home soft‑furnishings sector in the inaugural year of the 15th Five-Year Plan.

In terms of scale, the exhibition covered an area of 100,000 square meters, featuring eight thematic pavilions that brought together nearly 1,000 high‑quality brands spanning the entire industry chain. It attracted 98,279 professional visitors, including 1,506 overseas buyers from more than 60 countries and regions across five continents. Exhibits encompassed all categories—home textiles and fabrics, smart shading solutions, wall décor, custom furniture, smart home systems, and decorative accessories—offering a comprehensive showcase of innovative advancements in the broader home soft‑furnishings ecosystem.

This year’s event featured numerous highlights, with integrated whole‑house soft‑furnishings and smart technologies emerging as central attractions. At the opening ceremony, the organizers announced the relaunch of the autumn edition, scheduled for August 7–9 after a two-year hiatus, adopting “whole‑house soft‑furnishings” as its core strategy and fundamentally breaking away from the conventional model of replicating the spring show. The exhibition introduced an innovative “Business Matching Zone” along with three category‑specific procurement fairs, leveraging big data to enable precise pre‑event matching between exhibitors and buyers, and providing personalized one‑on‑one negotiation services. Specialized zones such as the “Whole‑House Fabrics Pavilion,” the “Window Treatments Technology Pavilion,” and the “Future Smart Home Pavilion” drew large crowds, with smart curtains, eco‑friendly fabrics, and AI‑driven design tools capturing keen interest among buyers.

A rich array of concurrent events created a high‑level platform for industry exchange. During the exhibition, Home China (Shenzhen) Creative Design Week was held, presenting over 40 high‑profile industry events and bringing together more than 200 global design luminaries and industry leaders, including former chief designers from Tom Ford, WGSN trend experts, and consultants from the Danish textile giant Kvadrat. In collaboration with WGSN, the immersive “Integrating All Possibilities” Trend Lab translated the 2026 global soft‑furnishings design trends into tangible experiential settings. The “2026 Soft‑Furnishings AI Conference” focused on the deep integration of artificial intelligence and the home‑furnishings industry, exploring new pathways for digital transformation. Meanwhile, the Pan‑Home Industry High‑Quality Development Conference convened, fostering consensus on industrial upgrading and global expansion.

An impressive lineup of international buyers signaled the official launch of the overseas expansion ecosystem. The exhibition extended targeted invitations to 1,506 overseas professionals from five continents, covering Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Russia, Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, as well as the Americas, Africa, and Oceania. Delegations from Kazakhstan, Vietnam, and other countries, alongside representatives from the Malaysian Designers Association, the Taiwan Interior Design Professional Association, and the Vietnam Design Association, made special visits. At the opening ceremony, the “Pan‑Home Industry Overseas Collaboration Ecosystem” was officially launched, uniting more than ten domestic and international organizations—including Informa Group, the China Private Economy International Cooperation Chamber of Commerce, the North Rhine‑Westphalia State International Business Agency, and the Kazakhstan Textile Business Association—to jointly build a systematic overseas service framework. As the ecosystem’s first pilot project, the 2026 Vietnam Home Textiles & Home Furnishings Exhibition is scheduled for November in Ho Chi Minh City, marking a strategic upgrade for Guangdong’s home textiles and furnishings industry—from “gathering the world at our doorstep” to “proactively venturing into the deep blue of the global market.”

A strong contingent of professional visitors underscored the high quality of buyer resources. Over the four-day event, 98,279 professional visitors attended, with attendance on the third day increasing by 31% compared to the previous year, surpassing market expectations. Exhibiting companies widely reported the high caliber of professional attendees, clear purchasing intent, and remarkable results from on‑site business matchmaking. At Aike’s negotiation zone, seats were fully occupied; at Shidian’s booth, smart‑home channel partners and technical teams repeatedly confirmed product agreements, while Fabo Home attracted designers seeking high‑profile collaborative partnerships.

The Shenzhen International Home Textiles, Fabric & Home Décor Exhibition 2026 (Autumn) will be held from August 7 to 9 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. Centering on the “whole‑house soft‑furnishings” strategy, this autumn edition will introduce seven innovative initiatives and four key value commitments, continuing to provide an efficient platform for global exchange and collaboration within the home soft‑furnishings industry.
