The Dongguan International Famous Furniture Fair (FAMOUS FURNITURE FAIR), launched in March 1999, is a renowned international brand exhibition in China’s home‑furnishings sector. It has also become a globally recognized symbol of Dongguan and the driving force behind the city’s convention and exhibition economy. Established during the early stages of robust growth in China’s furniture industry, its original mission was to foster the development of the local furniture sector. As a result, the fair has cultivated a distinctive “exhibition‑first, factory‑later” model, providing an ideal platform for in‑depth collaboration and communication between exhibitors and visitors.

Hosted within the furniture industry cluster of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, the fair is surrounded by tens of thousands of furniture manufacturers of varying sizes, along with a rich array of upstream and downstream resources across the broader home‑furnishings value chain. Houjie has emerged as China’s most concentrated hub for furniture manufacturing, while the Famous Furniture Fair serves as the central platform for the country’s leading furniture production base. The Dongguan International Famous Furniture Fair (FAMOUS FURNITURE FAIR)was founded under the direct guidance and management of the Houjie Town Party Committee and Town Government, with the overarching goal of promoting the long-term, sustainable development of the local furniture industry. In the same year, the Dongguan Famous Furniture Club—a trade association—was established as the fair’s organizing body. Following the successful launch of the exhibition, it transitioned to fully market‑driven operations.

The Dongguan International Famous Furniture Fair (FAMOUS FURNITURE FAIR)leveraged the fair itself to inaugurate the No. 9 Pavilion, the World Expo Park for Home Furnishings, spanning over 400,000 square meters in its initial phase. This integrated global brand exhibition, franchise opportunities, procurement, and direct sales platform has grown into the world’s largest exhibition‑trade complex. In 2017, further resource integration led to the pioneering creation of the No. 8 Pavilion, dedicated to whole‑home customization, covering 30,000 square meters. By 2018, the International Premium Brands Street, featuring nine independent flagship stores, had been fully opened. At this point, a nascent furniture exhibition‑trade cluster centered around Pavilion No. 9 began to take shape, radiating throughout the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. With the official release of the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, the groundbreaking ceremony for Phase II—the No. 10 Pavilion—was held on March 16, 2019. Covering 64,000 square meters with a planned gross floor area of 380,000 square meters, Phase II will connect seamlessly with the existing No. 9 Pavilion, bringing the combined footprint of both phases to 780,000 square meters and creating one of the world’s largest comprehensive headquarters complexes for the home‑furnishings industry.

Dongguan International Furniture Fair tickets are e-tickets. Mainland China visitors must complete online pre-registration with real-name ID verification; overseas visitors must use passport verification; Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan visitors must use their travel permit.
