China (Shanghai) International Furniture Production Equipment and Woodworking Machinery Exhibition

The China (Shanghai) International Furniture Manufacturing Equipment and Woodworking Machinery Exhibition 2025 (WMF 2025) was successfully held from September 9 to 12, 2025, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Hongqiao), Shanghai. This edition of the exhibition was themed “The Smart Balance of Manufacturing” and co-organized by the China Forestry Machinery Association and Informa Markets. It took place concurrently with the 56th China International Furniture Expo (Shanghai) and the Soft Furniture Technology Exhibition, together forming “Furniture Tech Week,” a premier annual event for the Asian woodworking machinery industry.

In terms of scale, this year’s show spanned 50,000 square meters, bringing together over 400 exhibitors from around the globe. The total number of professional visitors exceeded 29,203, including 3,715 international attendees, accounting for 12.72%—a year-on-year increase of 19.32%. International buyers and delegations represented 37 countries and regions worldwide, including Egypt, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, the United Kingdom, France, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Austria, Brazil, Poland, Russia, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, and others. Additionally, professional buyers and overseas visiting groups from more than 30 countries—including Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Russia, India, Austria, Germany, Brazil, South Africa, and Egypt—came to Shanghai for exchanges and business negotiations.

This year’s exhibition featured numerous highlights, with five core tracks and the “Smart Wood Research Workshop” drawing particular attention. Centered on the balance between delivery, cost, and aesthetics demanded by “light luxury customization,” the show showcased five major manufacturing tracks: panel-based/whole-line smart factories, solid wood precision manufacturing, soft molding/non-standard edge banding, engineered wood/laminated panels, and upholstered furniture. Located in Hall 8.1, the “Smart Wood Research Workshop” adopted an approach of “seeing finished products to understand manufacturing processes,” where 17 equipment manufacturers collaborated with design, material, and process partners to present creative prototypes such as curved components, mirrored door panels, and seamless edge-banding samples, accompanied by concise explanations of processes and philosophies, along with key component samples, enabling visitors to grasp at a glance the integrated closed-loop spanning design, materials, equipment, processes, and quality control.

Leading industry players made prominent appearances, with cutting-edge technologies and cost-effective solutions garnering significant interest. HOMAG China, under the theme “German Precision, Local Value,” exhibited star products such as the SAWTEQ S-150 electronic saw and the EDGETEQ S-500/Profi laser edgebander, while also jointly launching with Kujiale the “HOMAG × Kujiale Ecosystem Integration Library” solution. Domestic leaders like Nanxing Equipment, Hongya CNC, and Kai’ao Intelligent presented whole-line smart factory solutions. Diefenbach and Xinbeierkangpu demonstrated green, large-scale production technologies for engineered wood. Meanwhile, Weili, Hongma, and Qianchuan unveiled their latest achievements in solid wood precision manufacturing.

A rich array of concurrent events created a high-end platform for industry exchange. During the exhibition, the International Woodworking Cooperation Forum was held under the theme “Green Smart Manufacturing, Collaborative Development,” bringing together representatives from industry associations and enterprises across China, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Africa to explore new directions for international cooperation and supply chain coordination. Industry matchmaking sessions invited delegates from emerging markets such as India, Egypt, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, and Vietnam, fostering targeted connections and pragmatic collaboration. The Global Woodworking Smart Manufacturing Summit, themed “Craftsmanship Reborn—New Forces in High-End Custom Woodworking 2025,” gathered senior executives from A8 Space, Baogeli, Guan Heng Aesthetic Woodworking, Fulong Woodworking, and other companies to discuss innovation and trends in high-end custom woodworking.

The 2026 WMF International Woodworking Exhibition will be held in September 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Hongqiao), Shanghai. It is expected to continue being staged concurrently with CIFF China International Furniture Expo (Shanghai), providing an efficient platform for global exchange and collaboration within the woodworking machinery and furniture manufacturing industries.
