AVIC Helicopter Industry Base in the Tianjin Airport Economic Zone

The National Aerospace Industry Base is located within the Airport Economic Zone of Tianjin’s Binhai New Area and has been approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as a National Demonstration Base for New‑type Industrialization. The aerospace industry in Tianjin has already achieved significant agglomeration effects, with major and high‑quality projects steadily establishing themselves. Currently, an industrial cluster has taken shape, centered around large aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, large launch vehicles, satellites, space stations, and other key components—forming a “three aircraft, one rocket, one satellite, one station” industrial ecosystem.

According to the “Binhai New Area Industrial Layout Plan (2010–2020),” during the 12th Five‑Year Plan period, it was proposed to develop an aerospace industry cluster covering a total area of 30 square kilometers, with the aim of building a world‑class aerospace industry base.
