The theme of the South Asia Expo is "Unity and Cooperation, Common Development", co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the People's Government of Yunnan Province. It is one of the important economic and trade exchange activities between China and South Asian countries this year. It plays an important role in promoting multilateral diplomacy, economic and trade cooperation, and cultural exchanges.

The South Asia Expo will achieve two "firsts": the exhibition will highlight professional attributes and serve for trade transactions, with professional pavilions divided by product categories for the first time. A foreign trade comprehensive service area will be set up for the first time to build a platform for worry-free trade, continuously improving the quality and efficiency of the exhibition and its marketization and professional levels.

This session of the South Asia Expo will also reach two "15s": held online and offline simultaneously, with 15 exhibition halls set up offline, covering an exhibition area of 150,000 square meters; an online platform, Cloud South Asia Expo, will be established to host cloud exhibitions, live broadcasts, and negotiations. The South Asia Expo will further play the role of a platform for commodity trade, investment promotion, tourism cooperation, and cultural exchange, promoting the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
