Profile
Design Shanghai – the Shanghai Design Exhibition is one of the world’s most prestigious international design events and Asia’s leading design showcase, pioneering new ground in China’s rapidly evolving design industry. It brings together an extraordinary array of global design works, exploring the harmonious interplay and balance between Eastern and Western design philosophies. The exhibition also features groundbreaking specially curated installations, thought-provoking design dialogues, and a rich program of engaging activities, offering visitors an exceptional journey into the world of design!
Asia’s premier international design event, “Design Shanghai,” once again elevates the region’s design landscape with a comprehensively upgraded lineup and immersive experiences. The Shanghai Exhibition Center, with its prime location and architecturally inspiring aesthetic, has long been a favorite among design brands and the public. In 2014, “Design Shanghai” made its debut here, inaugurating a vital dialogue between Chinese and global design communities.
Design Shanghai will spotlight four key sectors—furniture and lighting, kitchen & bathroom and whole‑home solutions, lifestyle and accessories, as well as new materials and applications—presenting more than 500 distinguished brands from over 20 countries and regions, thus creating a design extravaganza that seamlessly blends nature with humanistic values.
Special curated programs—including TALENTS, Made in JDZ, Beyond Craft, Collectible Design & Art, and Materials First—will be presented alongside two major industry forums, the “Kohler Design Shanghai Global Design Conference” and the “CMF Forum,” delivering a multidimensional feast of inspiration for design professionals and enthusiasts worldwide.
With the exhibition returning this spring, a fresh visual identity boldly proclaims: the future of design lies not only in continuous progress but also in reconnection—connecting with nature, with people, with culture, and with the revitalizing energy brought by the changing seasons.
Each year, Design Shanghai collaborates with world‑leading design firms, creative studios, luxury fashion houses, and influential media outlets to curate a series of unique design experiences, featuring unprecedented special installations, landmark design projects, and captivating evening events.
